Democracy School -
Today in Sana'a concluded the workshop on protection policies of the World Bank and that targeted children parliaments members and future generations for three days with the partnership of the bank information center (BIC) and democracy school. The training aimed to explain and clarify the policies of the world bank in protection that should be followed in their works generally and in Yemeni specifically, also the projects that serves children and this workshop is considered as the first one in the Arab World that was implemented with children.
The BIC cooperates with civil society organizations in all the world to effect the world bank and international Financial institutions to support social, economical justice and sustainable environment.
The Bank information center focuses through its projects in four main areas which are:
- Protecting economical, social, cultural and environmental rights
- Building networks with civil society that concerns about access to information case in international financial institutions.
- General Accountability on international financial institutions
- Requesting more opportunities to achieve more effective civil participation.
The children parliament has previously visited the world bank information center office before the training in order to get to know their activities and the natural of their works.
The training was attended by the head quarter of the Bank Information Center from Washington Mrs. Elana Berger children rights' official and from Yemen branch Mr. Ibrahim Al-Harazi communication official in the bank as a monitor of the workshop.
